BetterBatteryStats provides support for unrooted devices; however, there are some manual steps that need to be completed by the user (on rooted devices, these steps are handled by the app).

• android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE: Solely utilized for writing dumps to the SD card. If this feature is unnecessary, feel free to revoke this permission without any adverse effects other than disabling said feature.
• android.permission.BATTERY_STATS: Essential permission for accessing internal statistics; revocation renders the app inoperable (from Kitkat onwards, BetterBatteryStats must be installed as a system app to access this permission).
• android.permission.DUMP: From Kitkat onwards, BetterBatteryStats can be installed as a system app to leverage this permission. It is required for accessing dumpsys without root access, enhancing performance.
• android.permission.ACCESS_WIFI_STATE: Mandatory since Android Marshmallow for accessing stats. In versions predating 6.0, this permission can be revoked.
• android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: Revocable permission.
• android.permission.RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED: Necessary for cleaning references. Revoking this permission may impact kernel wakelocks and custom references until new references are saved.
